ANIMAL MASKS

Create a plaster cast of your face, or use a paper mask or build up a base for the face using scrunched up newspaper. Place mask in the centre of the thick grey card.

Add strips of newspaper making sure to overlap onto the thick card on the background using wallpaper paste or watered down PVA glue.

Build up layers of paper mache, you can add up to three layers at a time, however the more layers the more time is needed for it to dry.

Once the mask is secure to the backing card add any other features like ears, snout, truck or horns. These can be constructed with newspaper and masking tape, or with chicken wire.

Once this is dry it is ready to paint.

Once paint has dried add features and textures.
